Five Simple Steps to Motivate your Employees



Happy workers make happy customers and productive employee to the company.  Following small steps can be make and motivate your employees to work more hard to be productive as well.  Following small steps can be lead to increase the moral of the employee and he or she will be more productive than ever.

1. Effective Communication 
Effective communication also can be known as two way communication, rather than sending an email or any other document there is a highly impact if employer can communicate the same verbally and personally, so that the staff will feel they are valued and communicating in person is the best way to show the appreciation of their hard work as well.


2.Be a Role Model 
One of Mahathma Ghandi,s quote is " Be the change you want others to be", every manager/ employer has to be set him or her as an example to the employees. If the manager or leader can show the excitement of achieving the company goals, employees will get on board and work to achieve it.


3.Empowering 
By giving the employees more of a say in how they do their job and asking their suggestions inputs on how they can improve their performance. Most of the practical application on products comes from ground level employees which can be very effective in developing the particular product further. But most of good ideas won't be shared unless you ask them personally or in a open forum. These types of steps can increase the moral of employees and they will get motivated as well.


4.Offer Opportunities 
Employees are more motivated when they know that they are working for a future opportunity of their carrier. Motivation can be done by offering training that gives them the skills that they to climb their carrier ladder.


5.Provide Incentives  
Incentives are always motivation boosters, and they don't want have be more expensive. You can offer extra day off, movie tickets, gift vouchers, recognition of best employee of the month etc. to show your appreciation. Of course cash rewards are also a good way of offering incentive.

Yes I agree with you RD ,as we all are lacking with effective communication which is the most power full tool in day today life even, and most of organization still hesitate to empower its employees by delegating relevant authorities . I think empowering employees are more effective in terms of motivating them self and it is an intrinsic motivation type.

    2. Yeah intrinsic motivation is becoming a common term in our HR departments now. Well Maslow thought of it decades back. Adding to this, yeah even our current government lacks effective communication strategies leading them to fall behind the game.

They will stay connected if we inspire, motivate them and handle them the necessary, support tools they need and can use. Useful reading.My personal point is each five steps are important .because individual employee motivation factors are deffer one to another.Organisation need to identify which out of above need to use in tactical manner to motivate employee.According to me being a role model & enough empowerment is much preferred.

    1. yes Thennakoon today's world we are lacking with role models we don't have any examples to be taken to where we would like to be or want to be, so the point you mentioned is very important to be a role model where you can automatically generate set of followers,and so on empowering is also can good impact on each employee and they will feel responsible and they will feel they are a part of the team and reliable which helps to motivate themselves automatically,
